The primary focus of coaching is to help you achieve your personal goals and aid in your development. Many coaches will use tools and techniques backed up by years of research and scientific study to guide you in this process. There is an abundance of psychological and sociological knowledge available and an effective coach will make recommendations that are specifically suited to you. The purpose of coaching is to explore the many components of well-being including habits, friendships, relationships and your relationship with self.
While coaching sees overlap with therapy, where it differs is that therapy can also focus on the diagnosis and treatment plan for mental health concerns such as depression or anxiety.
If you are interested in working on your personal or interpersonal development, focus on finding someone to work with that you feel comfortable speaking to. The efficacy of your sessions is impacted by your comfort level with the professional that you are working with.

In your first coaching session together we will cover a brief overview of coaching. I will also talk about my personal approach. I always invite my clients to share any goals they have in mind for each session and any expectations. I know that you are often coming to me with specific concerns and I will focus on the items you are most interested in addressing. With each and every session, we will discuss your takeaways and review how much closer you feel to achieving your initial goals. Whenever possible, I will leave you with points to take back and practise or reflect on.
Some clients show up to session without any particular idea of what to discuss or expectations but they know that something in their life isn’t working or going as they would like. This is totally ok too, I am happy to be a part of the discovery process with you.

Absolutely! Even if you are a few months in, there is only more to gain by booking coaching. We can cover aspects of what makes a healthy relationship, proper communication techniques and any additional tools that can help you build strong foundations for a long lasting and joyous relationship.
Even more important, there is so much you can learn about yourself in a relational dynamic which can often be more difficult to figure out on your own. This is because the relationship setting brings up conversations and behaviours that are harder to otherwise observe. Relationship coaching can be a very positive environment for a lot of personal growth as well.
